​​Making art is important to me because  the creative process becomes the single focus of the moment. Texture, colour and form become the most important elements of the natural or man-made landscape. Physical adventures into chasms and gorges become transformed into essences of  paint on canvas or paper.

Each series of paintings explores a different theme and provides new challenges using different media to ensure freshness  of approach.After exploring watercolours, acrylics,oils, pastels and printmaking, I now use all of these media on the work in progress.

Working with children has given me the  insight to paint freely, with childish delight in the journey and the process of art.

"The purpose of Artistic Qigong, is not to produce an immortal workof art, but to increase the happiness of the individual through achieving  Qi Yun, or spiritual resonance with the universe. 

Traditionally, the artist's energy became "in tune" with the universe. The artwork produced under such conditions, had the potential to reveal these "tunes" to others.
